Such a cliche` I tell you. Random messages from people you probably last heard from on your birthday or on New Year. Silly promises and sweet nothings from those people who are clueless about what is really happening in your life, your real issues, your real present.
Perhaps the only thing NOT silly in those messages is the reference to the past..to the awesome memories. Or wait, some of those memories were also dam silly..but nice silly.
I do not intend giving gyaan on friendship, but for me the 1st Sunday of August has stopped holding any special significance. The number of friendship bands, the number of SMSs do not bother me any more :) Cause, I am certain there are those friends who've been there over the years, been there through changes in paths, been there even after, been there way after the common thing in our lives have ended and then there are also those who've become soo close to me so quick and without a doubt will be a part of my life for a long long time. Those are my PEOPLE. Cheers to them :) And what the hell, Happy Friendships Day to you :)
If they are reading this..You know who you are :)

Twisted..
Ambivalent thoughts.. Inexpressible..
Hiding..Running..Scared..
Confused..Lost..
The guilt,the blame-twisting you further..
Losing it..losing me..Losing us..
Tears-a part of me..but cannot see them on you..
Angry..walking aimless..
Speaking..Faking it..But loving you..
Missing me..Missing you..Missing us..
So freaking dark & Twisted..

VedAnt :)
Life can appear so profound and yet be so simple. So mysterious, yet decodable. So random, yet self-explicative. I have always been inclined towards spirituality. The fundamental question of “WHO AM I?” has been my food for thought over the years. Accompanying this question are the many, “WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE?”, “WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE?” and “WHAT IS KARMA?” I did manage to find some answers courtesy Google, The Speaking Tree Section of The Times of India and some other good books. But, these learnings never managed to create a lasting impact. Justifiable in their own right, they still left me yearning for more.
My encounters with grief, pain and loss so very UP CLOSE and PERSONAL at a rather young stage in life, did make me quite a thinker. It made me look for something to whet my seeking appetite. Till I got back in touch with an old online friend-Prashant Parikh.
Prashant to me was like the many friends you have in your friends list on a messenger. Those people you knew once upon a time. Those people you haven’t spoken to in years. Those people with whom the conversation never goes beyond the ‘Hey Wassup?’ cliché.
I don’t know who started the conversation one Saturday afternoon. I don’t know why. I don’t know how. All I know is that I am very glad. Prashant has introduced me to VedAnt. With no strings attached and no expectations, he has been a sort of a teacher to me. A teacher who always answers each and every doubt no matter what the time is, what the situation is and what the question is. And the best part is that it all so lucid and practical. And when the ignorance is replaced with knowledge, things become clearer.
Life is simple :) And for me, VedAnt is the reason why.
Thanks PrashantJi :)

A parting bond...
Ideally I would wanna give this post a better title, but at the end of this long tiring day I can't think of showing off the vocab(plus GRE words randomly keep popping into my head..n all the inappropriate ones!!), so I will stick to A parting bond...
Its a weird feeling.. Two of my closest friends at work are leaving.. A year ago when we met, I never ever imagined they would manage to make a very soft spot for themselves in my heart.. In a heart so full of the TSEC nostalgia.. In a heart just into the perfectest relationship(touch wood)..In a heart that appeared too safeguarded venturing into a limitless inane..A year later, without a doubt I can say that they have become MY PEOPLE at work.. It doesn't happen too often where you feel soo comfortable with a person.. What people see as flaws, you choose to look at as a novel trait..You see the innocence behind the foolishness.. The sweetness behind the smile.. The care in the way they always are by your side.. The gossip they fill u up with..The way you land up discussing your routines, weekends, holidays, friends and family with them.. The way they keep your secrets and pretend when they need to in front of others..The way they guard your back when you ain't around..The way they wonder and miss you when you skip work.. The way you let go of your inhibitions and forget the whole over-hyped 'Corporate World Bitchiness' saga when you are with them.. The way you trust.. Yep..the way they've become my best friends..
I consider myself blessed to have crossed paths with the both of them at a time so vital..The transition from campus to corporate can get intimidating, especially at the start.. And when you have that support in a senior who treats you like a friend and a little sister and when you have that friend who you can be a fool with, super smart with, and discuss your stupid weight issues and discuss everything everything and more, you just cant help but wanna make them wait or just stop time..
I dunno when we will cross paths again, if at all we do :(
I dunno when we will spend over 9 hours of our day together again.
I dunno how I am gonna say Goodbye..
I dunno why with each passing day, this bond grows stronger..
Sigh..This parting bond!

Review: The latest book i am reading...
This book is the latest non fiction book by Rashmi Bansal, a former IIM-Ahmedabad student who is the co-founder and editor of JAM(Just Another Magazine). It has no relation with health & nutrition nor does it have anything to do with Steve Jobs, except that “Stay Hungry Stay Foolish” is a statement coined by him at the commencement speech at Stanford University. This book seeks to inspire young graduates to look beyond placements and salaries and to follow their dream. The header on the cover page aptly gives out the real essence of the book- “The inspiring stories of 25 IIM-Ahmedabad graduates who chose to tread a path of their own making”.
The author has categorized the entrepreneurs into “Believers”, “Opportunists” and the individuals with “An Alternate Vision”. The “Believers” like Mr. Sanjeev Bikhchandani of naukri.com, and Mr. Ashank Desai, the founder of Mastek are those people who know that entrepreneurship is the path they want to follow. They persevere until they make it big. The “Opportunists” do not plan to take up this path, but when the opportunity knocks, they seize it. Mr. Raseesh Shah is one such “Opportunist” who founded Edelweiss Capital in a world dominated by the likes of J P Morgan and Merrill Lynch. The individuals with “Alternate Vision” use entrepreneurship to create a social impact, just like Mr. Vijay Mahajan, the founder of Basix who has devoted his life to addressing issues of inequality and social injustice.
The short narrations in this book not only provide inspiration, but also highlight the struggles, challenges and hardships each of these individuals faced and how they emerged out of it with success! Success to them did come in different forms- for some it was money, for some it was fame, while for some it was a contribution towards society. They did not possess a single key to success. It was a combination of multiple factors like passion, perseverance, care and luck that did the trick. These entrepreneurs possessed a zeal to achieve something beyond mere money and fame. Often nothing mattered to them except enjoying the work they did. They sensed, they saw and they grabbed the opportunities. These people had the hawk-eye vision to go after things no one else even thought of noticing. 4 out of the 25 entrepreneurs in the book just wanted to do good for the society. They may not have had monetary success, but they created non-profit organizations for the betterment of their motherland India. Each of them stood by their employees with genuine care. They thus commanded the love and respect of their subordinates without a demand for it. All in all, this book is about the people who brought huge progress to India and the world. Irrespective of their field, they brought a long-lasting whiff of freshness and novelty in their respective domains. Instead of cribbing aimlessly like several others, about the evils in the Indian System, they brought about a change!
The myth that one needs to be a genius in order to be an entrepreneur is proved wrong in this book. What makes the difference between a leader and rest of the herd is the fire within to achieve success, the courage to quit a meaningless job and step out of one’s comfort zone and ultimately to have faith in one’s dream. ”Stay Hungry Stay Foolish” is surely bound to bring out a hidden passion, trigger a long-lost dream and maybe imbibe a spirit of motivation in each of its readers.
